WINAMP: El reproductor definitivo
Winamp es un reproductor multiformato y de aspecto configurable.
Winamp soporta una gran variedad de formatos de archivos actuales y especializados de música, incluyendo MIDI, MOD, MPEG audio layer 1 y 2, AAC, M4A, FLAC, WAV, OGG Vorbis y Windows Media Audio. Soporta la reproducción sin pausa de MP3 y AAC y el Replay Gain para igualar el volumen de las diferentes canciones. Además, Winamp puede reproducir e importar música de CD de audio, opcionalmente con la información del CD, e incluso grabar música a CD. Winamp soporta la reproducción de Windows Media Video y Nullsoft Streaming Video, así como la mayoría de los formatos de video soportados por Windows Media Player. El Sonido Envolvente 5.1 está soportado en los formatos y decodificadores que lo permiten.
Winamp soporta muchos tipos de contenido por streaming: Radio por Internet, Televisión por Internet, Radio por Satélite XM, video AOL, contenido Singingfish, podcasts y feeds RSS. También tiene soporte extendido para reproductores portátiles y los usuarios pueden acceder a sus bibliotecas de archivos a través de conexiones en Internet.
